What is a STEM School? Describing STEM School Models

In this webinar, CEMSE and Battelle Center staff will present current their research work on describing and measuring the presence of STEM school models. They will reference the schools featured in the earlier webinars to highlight some of the commonalities and differences across STEM schools and share in depth a data visualization tool they have created to represent the "critical components" of STEM schools. Participants will be encouraged to ask specific questions and share some of their own school critical components, as well as their experiences and ideas about the current and future direction of STEM schools.

New Developments in Science Mapping: Implications for Research and Innovation

This event will explore cutting-edge tools and computer-based applications to understand the dynamics of knowledge creation in science and engineering. Those who would benefit by attending the event are science and technologypolicy specialists, research managers, computer scientists, knowledge management scholars, infovis and innovation specialists, business intelligence experts, and research network organizers. The workshop will be lead by  Richard Klavans (mapofscience.com), a world leader in the development of new science mapping techniques.   Current research on new methodologies is supported by funds from NSF, NIH, IARPA, private foundations and industrialpartnerships.

This event is part of the Battelle Center's series "Current Topics in S&T Policy" and will be led by three GMO experts in the field: Ian Sheldon (Anderson Professor of International Trade, Department of Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics, The Ohio State University), Tammy Dobbels (Area Manager for Souther Ohio, Pioneer Hi-Bred International), and Rick Heggs (Sr. Market Manager, Business Development and Open Innovation, Energy, Environment and Material Sciences Global Business).
